Masseria Don Luigi
Fasano, Puglia · 2025
Located in the countryside of Fasano, Masseria Don Luigi is a family-run boutique hotel surrounded by olive groves and Mediterranean vegetation. The property includes 14 guest rooms distributed across three separate buildings, all on the ground floor and each with its own private garden or courtyard. The masseria has been passed down through generations, preserving the authentic charm of traditional Apulian hospitality.

Our intervention focused on the complete restyling of all guest rooms. In some cases, the layouts were reconfigured to improve comfort and flow, while in others the work concentrated on materials, finishes, and bespoke details. Every piece of furniture was custom-designed and crafted by a local artisan, ensuring a consistent and coherent aesthetic throughout.

In the larger rooms, we introduced minimalist yet striking canopy beds that enhance the height and geometry of the vaulted ceilings. In the more compact spaces, the design aimed at optimizing functionality without compromising on refinement — custom-made elements, discreet lighting, and fine detailing define a sense of quiet elegance. The bedside tables, veneered in a glossy burl wood, add warmth and depth to the otherwise essential palette.

The overall concept sought to refresh the identity of the hotel through a contemporary interpretation of Apulian tradition. The result is a balance between simplicity and sophistication, where every choice respects the existing architecture and the functional needs of hospitality.

Materials are natural, washable, and flame-retardant; solutions are practical and durable. The project avoids decorative excess, enhancing instead the serene and timeless character of the masseria.

Textiles played a central role in the design. Each upholstered headboard was tailor-made, and curtains were carefully selected to both divide functions and enrich the atmosphere with soft layers and natural textures. These fabric elements interact harmoniously with the existing architectural features — the star-shaped vaults, the Trani stone floors, the white limewashed walls, and the light-colored timber shutters that frame each opening.
